“It’s just a badge.”

“Just a badge.” she echoes. “Tell me, do you believe Kier’s words are just words?”

“No, Ms. Cobel.”

“Then you understand why this is a problem.”

Ms. Cobel sets the badge down and leans forward slightly. “You’re correct. It won’t.”

Ms. Cobel eyes the badge one last time before slipping it into her drawer. “This stays with me. You, however, will return to your team. You will correct your course. And you will remind yourself of who you are.”

“Understood.”

“Good. You may go.”
